SHIPPINGInsight Reveals its 2026 Roadmap for Revitalizing the US Maritime Industry

November 19 2025 – SHIPPINGInsight, the premier North American platform for maritime innovation, fleet optimization, and industry collaboration, today announced its 2026 roadmap, a determined year-long program designed to accelerate the revitalization of the U.S. maritime industry. Building on the momentum generated by the 2025 SHIPPINGInsight Conference and Leadership Roundtables, the SHIPS for America Act hearings, and a growing national push for maritime resurgence, SHIPPINGInsight will bring together industry executives, policymakers, innovators, financiers, and workforce leaders to map out the next phase of U.S. maritime strength.

The 2026 program begins on February 25th in Houston with Leadership Roundtable 2.0, hosted at WGMA. Texas continues to position itself at the forefront of maritime revitalization, and this session will explore its expanding leadership role. The discussion will include an opening keynote, reflections on the convergence between SHIPPINGInsight’s Leadership Roundtable 1.0 and Congressional testimony and updates on the SHIPS Act,  and information gleaned by the Presidential Executive Order, and new criteria emerging for coalition-building. Dr. Beatriz Canamary will also provide an integrated analysis of how federal and industry priorities are aligning for the first time in decades.

On May 20th, the program moves to the ABS Offices in Washington, D.C., for “Revitalizing the U.S. Maritime Industry — 2.0.” This gathering will feature D.C. updates on the progress of the SHIPS Act and Executive Order, present a deep dive into Texas’ leadership as a national case study, and examine Korea and Japan’s growing investments and ambitions in the U.S. market. Participants will also explore the broader innovation landscape, emerging challenges, and pathways for building cross-sectoral coalitions capable of sustaining long-term impact.

June 1-5 SHIPPINGInsight will be at Posidonia in Athens, Greece, once again hosting its U.S. Innovation Pavilion at Posidonia in Athens and elevating American technology and maritime ingenuity on a global stage. On June 4th, the Trading in U.S. Waters Conference will address the SHIPS Act from an international perspective and host the mid-year SHARK TANK competition, spotlighting high-impact maritime technologies ready for deployment across global fleets and ports.

The year will conclude on October 13–14 at the Houston Marriott South at Hobby Airport with SHIPPINGInsight 2026: “Revitalizing the U.S. Maritime Industry — 3.0.” The October 13th program will offer a full day of dialogue, beginning with an opening keynote and a comprehensive briefing on today’s U.S. maritime markets. Status reports on the SHIPS Act and Executive Order will be presented, followed by an assessment of Texas’ continued leadership in shaping the national maritime agenda. The program will then turn to national coalition creation, workforce development, and strategies for accessing capital to support US maritime modernization. SHIPPINGInsight’s SHARK TANK will convene again, showcasing innovators driving operational and technological resilience and advancement.

On October 14th, Leadership Roundtable 3.0 will provide a forward-looking assessment of national progress. Dr. Beatriz Canamary will offer an analysis of how far the industry has come since 2025, followed by RADM James Watson’s gap analysis outlining the strengths still to be built. The session will examine what remains necessary to meet the nation’s maritime needs and explore how public-private projects can be facilitated more effectively to support U.S. maritime goals.

SHIPPINGInsight continues to serve as the leading platform for maritime collaboration in the Americas. Through its annual conference, innovation ecosystem, Leadership Roundtables, and year-round programming, it drives progress toward a more secure, innovative, and competitive U.S. maritime future.
