SHIPPINGInsight 2023 Day 3 Recap – Disruption and SHARK TANK

SHIPPINGInsight ended its three-day conference facing the benefits of innovation, along with the reality of disruption and its implications for our industry and its future. On a generally upbeat note, our esteemed panelists recognized that today’s disruption and innovation will be tomorrow’s norm and offered advice on how to prepare for change.

The conference ended with SHIPPINGInsight’s signature SHARK TANK, which featured 6 “chum” and 6 “Sharks”. Due to the Israeli-Hamas conflict, one of the chums had to present remotely from Israel where he had been called up for duty. He was rewarded with the most investment from the Sharks and given SHIPPINGInsight’s Innovation Award. Second place finisher was SUNY Maritime College Cadet Katherine Mattikow for her Pilot Ladder, with third place going to Samantha Weckesser of Stevens Institute of Technology.

SHIPPINGInsight’s role is to provide a forum for solution providers to collaborate with fleet managers in this Decade of Collaboration. We hope it is a springboard for elevating the performance of our maritime industry and its community!

Keep optimizing,
Carleen
