SHIPPINGInsight Platinum Partner, OrbitMI, Unveils Real-Time Weather Routeing System
New York-based OrbitMI Inc has officially launched a cloud-based weather routing system for real-time and responsive voyage optimization.
Working with weather data provider, DTN, the software company’s Orbit Weather+ enables ship personnel, shore-based managers and charterers to share real-time data for the most cost-, time-, or carbon-effective transits.
The constantly updated meteorological data from DTN enables voyages to be optimized not only at the outset but also by using weather updates that can provide a basis for voyage refinements as they take place. The system also enables constant carbon intensity indicator (CII) monitoring for subsequent vessel assessments.
