As we move deeper into the decade, we are seeing massive changes affecting the maritime industry. With global communications now instantaneous, shipping has come out of the shadows and is taking center stage in conversations surrounding global trade, climate impacts, digital tools, automation, innovation and more! SHIPPINGInsight 2022 will address the most pressing demands of our decade!
DAY 1 – October 11
The Decade of Demand will kick-off with a pre-conference morning seminar, Green Shipping Corridors, hosted by ABS. Semiramis Paliou, CEO of Diana Shipping will set the stage as “The New Face of Shipping” reflecting the new demands in our industry. Chris Wiernicki, Chairman, President, and CEO of ABS will deliver our opening keynote on the drivers of demand with accountability and transparency at the core. We’ll hear from industry leaders on the Demands for Decarbonization and the pathways forward along with their associated challenges. As the public’s Demand for Transparency increases, how can companies deliver on transparency? The night will end with a Greek food truck and Celebrity Karaoke!
DAY 2 – October 12
Lois Zabrocky, CEO of International Seaways will set the stage with Decision Making in a Fluid World followed by Knut Ørbeck-Nilssen, CEO, DNV on how we can Close the Gap Between Aspiration and Reality. This decade will illuminate the digital divide and how efficiency created by digitalization will thrive. Deep Dives will explore current strategies, technologies, and pathways for Fleet Management Optimization, Fuel & Bunkering, Energy Alternatives, Regulatory Compliance Challenges and Solutions, Digitalization & Cyber, and Safety on the High Seas. We’ll hear from our shipowner panel, Peter Southgate of Cayman Registry, Morten Arntzen of Team Tankers, Boriana Farrer of Patriot Contract Services, and Hugo DeStoop of Euronav. We’ll hear from Demand for Defense Keynote, Professor James Henry Bergeron of NATO as we discuss how companies navigate multiple threats. We’ll end with dinner and rock out with Band Jam at the Black Duck in Westport.
DAY 3 – October 13
The day will start with a Network Speed Dating Breakfast. Opening Keynote, Kevin Humphreys of Lloyd’s Register will expand on the Demand for Disruption with new technologies, operational practices, challenges and opportunities. We’ll hear from John Wobensmith, CEO of Genco Shipping as a shipowner keynote on the Demand for Innovation segueing into SHIPPINGInsight’s SHARK TANK, followed by presentation of the Innovation Award. The conference will be concluded with closing keynote speaker, Maarten Poort, Head of Shipping in the Americas, Shell.
