In the book “Field of Dreams”, Kevin Costner was urged to “Build the Field—the people will come”.  And come they did to last week’s SHIPPINGInsight’s 2020:  A Shipping Odyssey!!!  It was truly out of this world!!
Several signature things occurred last week:

  • Largest turnout in the history of SHIPPINGInsight with nearly 300 attending, including 71 shipowners, is a stellar group!
  • Hollywood was in the house!!  The lead actor in 2001:  A Space Odyssey, Dr. David Bowman (aka Keir Dullea) had a war of words with our HAL 9000 (aka Don Sheetz) over IMO2020 and Decarbonization.
  • The discussions around topical issues (IMO2020, Enforcement, Digitalization, Decarbonization, the Future and Disruption were informative and pivotal.
  • Shipowners roundtable answered tough questions
  • Karaoke night proved to be out of this world
  • SHIPPINGInsight’s SHARK TANK is a game changer for companies

To those of you who attended, thank you for your participation.  For those who couldn’t make it this year, we hope to see you next October 13-15th at the Greenwich Hyatt!

Keep optimizing,
