Chairman and Lead Speakers Announced for SHIPPINGInsight 2018 Fleet Optimization and Innovation Conference and Exhibition

For Immediate Release

7th Annual SHIPPINGInsight Focuses on Challenges and Catalysts that Will Shape the Shipping Industry in Coming Years

STAMFORD, Conn. – June 7, 2018 – SHIPPINGInsight today announced the chairman and the developing list of major speakers for the 2018 Fleet Optimization and Innovation Conference and Exhibition, which will take place Oct. 16-18at the Stamford Hilton.

“Angus Campbell, Corporate Director, Energy Products, at Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement, is a highly regarded thought leader in our industry.  He has agreed to reprise his role as Conference Chairman for the 2018 event, and his extensive experience and perspective will provide a catalyst for discussion,” said SHIPPINGInsight Chief Evolution Officer Carleen Lyden Walker. “We have also confirmed our first premier speakers. They are Jan-Willem van den Dijssel, Americas Lead, Cargill Ocean Transportation; Francesco Bellusci, Managing Director, Scorpio Group; and Kirsi Tikka, Executive Vice President, Global Marine, ABS.”

Additional keynote and lead speakers will be announced soon, according to Lyden Walker, who added that the detailed conference agenda is also being finalized.

For 2018, the SHIPPINGInsight Fleet Optimization and Innovation Conference and Exhibition is moving to a new venue at the Stamford Hilton Hotel, taking advantage of the superior conference, networking and meeting facilities and larger exhibition hall.

“In addition to a new venue, you’ll see new energy, new ideas, new opportunities and a new focus on practical strategies for the future in this year’s conference,” said Walker.

In considering the importance of SHIPPINGInsight’s annual symposium, Campbell commented, “We work in an inherently conservative industry, coping with low charter rates and investment challenges across most sectors. We are certainly at a turning point, where traditional ways of working are colliding with disruptive change. Because of this, the practical and economic drivers for the new technologies and solutions on offer need to be clear, with the benefit from adoption visible. I look forward to hearing many views and opinions during the conference and exhibition, as we try to define how our industry will continue to innovate and evolve effectively.”
