SHIPPINGInsight 2017 to Offer More Learning and Networking Opportunities
NORFOLK, Va. – Aug. 24, 2017 – The organizers of SHIPPINGInsight report that the 2017 Fleet Optimization Conference and Exhibition is shaping up to be the biggest and best ever, with more top speakers, sponsored educational seminars, panels, roundtables, industry awards and networking opportunities.
Now in its sixth year, SHIPPINGInsight is the premier annual maritime technical symposium in North America. The 2½ day event will take place Oct. 10-12 at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa in Stamford, Connecticut.
SHIPPINGInsight co-director Carleen Lyden Walker observed, “This year’s conference topics reflect the trends and developments that are at the top of shipping companies’ concerns. The agenda has been built around timely themes, including the impact of digitalization, challenges of regulatory compliance, ballast water treatment, alternative fuels and propulsion technologies, cybersecurity and software solutions. We have put together an impressive lineup of CEO/COO-level speakers from some of the world’s leading shipowners and ship management companies who will share their perspective on the issues facing the industry.”
The conference agenda, under the chairmanship of Michael Wilson, president and COO (Americas) of Laurin Maritime, will include five panel sessions and six open-discussion roundtables, with more than 50 total speakers. In addition to the formal conference, the schedule includes more than 19 hours of scheduled networking events. “One of our goals at SHIPPINGInsight is to create an atmosphere of collaboration and information sharing, not only in the formal conference agenda, but also in informal networking between shipping companies and technology suppliers,” said Jim Rhodes, SHIPPINGInsight co-director.
Online registration for the event is open at www.shippinginsight.com/choose-event. The $200 early-bird discount expires Sept. 15.
